As a part of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust, Political Awareness and Involvement is a critical focus area. Our organization is non-partisan in nature and purpose, but we recognize the significance and necessity of an informed electorate. We are deeply committed to promoting the public’s right to know and the enfranchisement of all Americans, and these values form the foundation of our public service programs in this area. Our aim is to encourage civic engagement and empower individuals to participate in the political process. Through our programs, we strive to raise awareness about political issues and their impact on society, provide education on the political process and promote voter registration and turnout. We believe an informed and engaged citizenry is crucial to a healthy democracy, and we are dedicated to advancing this cause.
